MISSION
Our mission is to support the Rutgers Scarlet Knights by providing first-class nutrition services that will create an immediate impact and provide lifelong skills beyond the game. Our science-based, food-first approach to nutrition enhances the overall health and well-being of our student-athletes elevating their athletic and academic performance.
The full-time Sports Nutrition staff at Rutgers Athletics hold a certification that provides unique benefits to student-athletes and employers. A Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics is a registered dietitian who provides safe, effective and evidence based nutrition services and education for health, fitness, and athletic performance. These specialists are qualified to deliver medical nutrition therapy and have career experiences in the sports dietetic field of practice.

Together, they serve over 600 student-athletes here at Rutgers Athletics, providing evidence-based nutrition recommendations to help meet individual performance, health, and lifestyle goals. The personalized nutrition strategies for each team and student-athlete will help them optimize performance and gain a competitive edge.
Our team of Sports Dietitians works closely with other members of the Sports Medicine staff including team physicians, athletic trainers, sports psychologists, and strength coaches to provide the highest quality of care possible.
The Rutgers Sports Nutrition mission is to provide quality nutrition and educate student-athletes and coaches on the importance of quality nutrition and the influence it has on overall sport performance and well-being. The staff strives to help student-athletes develop a positive relationship with food.

Help incorporate game day hydration and nutrition strategies to ensure optimal performance during the most critical moments.
Fueling Stations
Located at the Hale Center and Rutgers Athletic Center, our fueling stations provide student athletes with easy access to sports nutrition fuel throughout their busy day.
Supplement Evaluations
Dietitians use the latest research to evaluate supplements and use evidence-based recommendations when talking to student-athletes about supplement usage, safety, and efficacy.


Our Sports Nutrition Volunteer Program provides a unique and hands-on learning experience that will allow you to develop and enhance your nutrition-related knowledge to optimize collegiate athlete's sport performance.
