    Head Football Sports Dietician
Hannah O’Brien joined the Rutgers football staff in the summer of 2021 and serves as head football sports dietician. An alumna of the University, she is responsible for coordinating energetic and nutritional needs of the football team, including plate coaching, managing fueling stations, data analysis and more.

A native of Whitehouse Station, New Jersey, O’Brien worked for over four years (2016-2020) at Hunterdon Medical Center in the dietetics department. That included preparing food trays for patients, spreading awareness about healthy eating and more. Previously, she served as a volunteer at UPenn working alongside the director of sports nutrition in creating nutrition education in various forms. O’Brien also gained experience as part of the Wellness Workdays Dietetic internship across the state.

O’Brien owns her own company, Best Life Nutrition & Fitness, LLC, which provides virtual nutrition and fitness counseling, meal plans, recipes and exercise workouts. She holds certifications as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN), Certified Sports Nutritionist (CISSN) and Certified Personal Trainer (NASM).

A 2019 graduate of Rutgers University, O’Brien earned her Bachelor of Science in nutritional science, dietetics, while also volunteering as part of the nutrition staff within the athletics department. She merited a master’s degree in applied exercise science with a sports nutrition concentration from Concordia University in 2021.
