Ali, Provenzano, Tagliaferri Claim All-America Honors
Program-record three All-Americans in a single season

Seniors Amirah Ali, Gabby Provenzano and Frankie Tagliaferri of Rutgers women’s soccer were named All-Americans by United Soccer Coaches. It marks the first time in program history three Scarlet Knights have earned All-America recognition in a single season.
The trio has led Rutgers to its first Big Ten title in program and school history, as well as the program’s second College Cup appearance and first since 2015. Setting a handful of program records along the way, Ali, Provenzano, and Tagliaferri have added their own history to the charts as well.

Ali is now the program’s first four-time All-American, earning the honor for the fourth straight season. The All-Region First Team selection, also the first five-time all-region honoree in RU history, has registered career single-season highs in points (30), goals (12), and assists (6). In the program’s run to the College Cup, the forward has posted three goals, an assist, and a gamewinner.
Ali earned all-Big Ten First Team honors for the fourth straight year, earning all-conference honors for the fifth time in her career. Overall, she leads the Rutgers career charts in matches played (100), matches started (99), game-winning goals (17) and golden goals (9). She ranks third on the all-time charts in points (107) and goals (44), as well as eighth in assists (19).
The Voorhees, New Jersey, native was named candidate for the 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy, awarded to the National Player of the Year. She earned a spot on the list for the third straight year, having been named a semifinalist in 2019 and 2020. Ali adds a fourth All-America nod to a resume of five All-Region, five All-Big Ten, two Big Ten All-Tournament Team, Big Ten All-Freshman Team, and 2017 Big Ten Freshman of the Year accolades.
In the classroom, the criminal justice major is an Academic All-Big Ten and Dean's List honoree. Ali also adds 2020-21 Senior CLASS Award Finalist and First Team Selection and United Soccer Coaches College Player Award of Distinction to her list of achievements.

Provenzano, an All-Region First Team selection, earns her first All-America First Team honor. The accolade comes after being announced a semifinalist for the 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy, awarded to that National Player of the Year. The 2021 Big Ten Defender of the Year picked up her second straight All-Big Ten First Team nod, aiding Rutgers in a total of 13 shutouts this season and five clean sheets in league play. The senior back added two goals and an assist on the season, bringing her career totals to five goals and three assists.
Provenzano eclipsed 100 career games played this season, the most for a Scarlet Knight in program history. She garners a resume of All-America, two-time All-Big Ten, two-time All-Region, two-time Big Ten All-Tournament, Big Ten Sportsmanship Award and numerous Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week accolades. The captain was tabbed a candidate for the 2021 Senior CLASS Award, which recognizes student-athletes who excel both on and off the field.
In the classroom, the sport management major is a Scholar All-America, Scholar All-Region, Academic All-Big Ten and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honoree. The Sergeantsville, New Jersey, native was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National Collegiate Athlete Honor Society.

Tagliaferri was tabbed an All-American for the second straight season, garnering First Team recognition this year. The midfielder is also a semifinalist for the 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy, awarded to the nation’s top player. The 2021 Big Ten Midfielder of the Year and All-Big Ten First Team selection led the conference with 31 total points, including 12 goals and seven assists in the regular season.
The NCAA active career leader in games played with 114 appearances, marking the most games ever played by a DI women's soccer player. Tagliaferri is an All-American, three-time All-Region, five-time All-Big Ten, and three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
Tagliaferri eclipsed 100 total career points this season, having notched 35 tallies with 13 goals and nine assists en route to a total of 114 career points (40g, 34a). In just one year as a Scarlet Knight, her 35 single-season points ranks tied for third on the Rutgers charts. The Colts Neck, New Jersey, native is a Senior CLASS Award finalist, which recognizes student-athletes who excel both on and off the field.
In the classroom, Tagliaferri is a CoSIDA Academic All-America, CoSIDA Academic All-District, Academic All-Big Ten, and Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honoree.
