McClelland and Provenzano Honored for Academic Achievements
Scarlet Knights named Scholar All-Region

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Senior back Gabby Provenzano and senior goalkeeper Meagan McClelland earned Scholar All-Region accolades by United Soccer Coaches. Provenzano also claimed Scholar All-America First Team recognition. The honors come after both were named Academic All-Big Ten for Fall 2021, helping set a new program record with 21 student-athletes honored for the semester.

Provenzano, a 2021 MAC Hermann Trophy semifinalist, earned Scholar All-America First Team and All- East Region honors for the second consecutive season. The academic awards follow First Team All-America, First Team All-Region, and First Team All-Big Ten honors this season, as well as Big Ten All-Tournament and NCAA College Cup All-Tournament Team selections.
The sport management major is a two-time Scholar All-America, two-time Scholar All-Region, four-time Academic All-Big Ten and three-time Big Ten Distinguished Scholar honoree. The Sergeantsville, New Jersey, native was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National Collegiate Athlete Honor Society, in Fall 2020.

McClelland earned Scholar All-East Region honors to grow her resume of achievements in the classroom and on the pitch. The goalkeeper adds the accolade to Third Team All-Region and Third Team All-Big Ten honors this year, having picked up Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week recognition during the season.
The supply chain and marketing science major is a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree. The Kearny, New Jersey, native was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, the National Collegiate Athlete Honor Society, in Fall 2021.
