 RUTGERS GAME DAY INFORMATION

Rutgers, the Birthplace of College Football, began playing at the "Old" Rutgers Stadium on November 5, 1938 in Piscataway. Rutgers Stadium was then built on the site of the "Old" Rutgers Stadium as the Scarlet Knights began play in their new 41,500-seat stadium in 1994.

In 2009, Rutgers, the Birthplace of College Football, completed a $102 million expansion of SHI Stadium to increase the capacity to 52,454

The Hale Center, which underwent a $12.5 million expansion, is the home of the Rutgers Football program.
Along with the SHI Stadium adjacent to it, this facility houses some of the most advanced sports and training facilities in the country.

•    Recruiting tours for all other sports on non-football recruiting days
•    High-end fundraising for senior level university officials and the Rutgers University Foundation
•    Tours for prospective students and their families.

In addition to the new seating, the expansion upgraded the stadium's sound system, scoreboard and video screen; concessions and rest rooms. SHI Stadium has always been a place where students, alumni and friends could get together on a crisp Saturday afternoon in the fall, and cheer on their Knights. The excitement at SHI Stadium on game days is at an all-time high in the Tri-State area.
