
Rutgers Remembers Men's Basketball Letterwinner Lou Goetz

Goetz was a men's basketball letterwinner from 1967 to 1969, playing on teams that combined to compile a 57-21 record. In 1967, Goetz was part of the first Rutgers team to make the postseason, as the Scarlet Knights went 22-7 and finished third in the NIT. He was also a member of the 1969 NIT squad, a team that holds the second highest winning percentage in school history (.840) and also the second longest winning streak (16).
After graduation, Goetz went into coaching. He served as an assistant coach at Rutgers, Utah and Duke before becoming the head coach at the University of Richmond. He served as the head coach of the Spiders for three seasons.
