Jacksonville Jaguars Sign Former RU Standout Courtney Greene

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Former Rutgers standout defensive back Courtney Greene signed a contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars Monday. Greene joined the 53-man active roster and joins two former RU teammates with the Jaguars – offensive lineman Cam Stephenson and wide receiver Tiquan Underwood.
Greene, a seventh round draft pick in the 2009 NFL Draft the Seattle Seahawks, becomes the 18th former Scarlet Knight currently active in the NFL.
Greene was a four-year starter for the Scarlet Knights, playing both the free and strong safety spots. He was a first-team All-Big East selection as a senior after finishing with 87 tackles and two interceptions and earned second-team honors as a sophomore as he led the team with four interceptions along with 82 tackles. He earned Freshman All-America honors in 2005 after he started all 12 games and finished with 116 tackles.
