
Sanu Earns another BIG EAST Player of the Week Honor

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (November 14, 2011) - The BIG EAST Conference office announced Monday that Rutgers junior wide receiver Mohamed Sanu (South Brunswick, N.J.) is this week's BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week. This week's honor marks the second time in 2011 Sanu has been named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
He became the BIG EAST single-season record holder for receptions with 94 this year after his 13-reception performance vs. Army. Sanu broke Larry Fitzgerald's BIG EAST single-season record of 92 receptions set in 2003. Sanu set a new Rutgers single-season mark as well, passing Kenny Britt's record year of 87 receptions set in 2008.
Sanu now has 94 receptions for 973 yards in 2011. He ranks sixth in school history for single-season receiving yards.
Sanu became the eighth player in school history to break the 2,000-yard mark receiving. He has 2,030 yards receiving in his career, eighth in career history at Rutgers.
The Scarlet Knights return to action Saturday, November 19 at home in a battle for first place in the BIG EAST vs. Cincinnati.
