
C. Vivian Stringer Announces 2011 Girl's Summer Basketball Camp Dates

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (April 6, 2011) - The Rutgers women's basketball program released the dates for five camps to be held during the summer at the Louis Brown Athletic Center (RAC) on Livingston campus.
Members of the Rutgers coaching staff, as well as current and former student-athletes will be on hand to provide instruction in a number of areas. Other collegiate and high school coaches will also be in attendance.
Rutgers will host the Weekend Team Shoot-Out for the fourth-straight year on June 4-5 and June 18-19. The two-day event will run from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. The first Team Shoot-Out (June 4-5) is open to AAU teams, ages 9-13 (levels - National, A, B, C) and middle school teams. The second Team Shoot-Out (June 18-19) is open to AAU teams, ages 13-17 (levels - National, A, B), middle school and high school varsity teams.
Head coach C. Vivian Stringer will hold the Elite School of Skills camp on two separate dates. These camps will focus on the development of specific basketball fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, rebounding, shooting, footwork and defensive techniques. The Junior Elite School of Skills will take place on July 16-17 and is open to grades 4-8. The Elite School of Skills will run from Aug. 6-7 and is open to grades 9-12. Junior College and international students are also welcome.
Rutgers will host an Individual Camp on July 28-31, providing a positive learning environment to help each camper improve her overall fundamental skills. Daily instruction and stations will focus on dribbling, ball-handling, shooting, rebounding and defensive techniques. Campers will compete on teams in order to transfer their individual skills to the team concept.
