
Wyckoff Ties Rutgers Pole Vault Record at NCAA East Region

GREENSBORO, N.C. (May 24, 2013) - Senior Chris Wyckoff (Toms River, N.J.) tied the Rutgers track & field record on Thursday at the NCAA East Region Championships in the pole vault as he cleared the bar at a height of 5.20m.
Wyckoff just missed the cutoff for qualifying for the NCAA Championship, with the top 12 advancing to Eugene, Ore., and Wyckoff taking 15th. He tied the RU bench mark of 5.20m (17'0.75') that was set by Mark Vinci. Additionally, Wyckoff surpassed his previous best of 5.15m captured most recently at the IC4A Championships.
On the docket for Friday at the NCAA Track & Field East Region Championships are freshman Thomas Carr (Voorhees, N.J.) in the javelin set for noon and redshirt junior Asha Ruth (Bowie, Md.) in the prelims of the 200m at 8:25 p.m.
Competition for the Scarlet Knights wraps up on Saturday with the women's 4x100 and 4x400 relays, senior Alexandra Kelly (Florham Park, N.J.) in the javelin, senior Kevin Bostick (Englewood, N.J.) in the triple jump and senior Adam Bergo (Plainfield, N.J.) in the high jump and triple jump.
