PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers Athletics has announced the additions of Meech Robinson (graphic designer) and Thomas Northcutt (graphic design assistant) to the creative services department. Along with lead designer Andrew Kulihin, the group will assist the needs of all 24 sports.
Meech Robinson
Originally from Westland, Michigan, Robinson spent the previous year as a graphic design assistant at Florida. He created print and social media collateral for numerous programs, including women's basketball, baseball, softball, volleyball, lacrosse and track & field. In addition, Robinson produced social media graphics for soccer, gymnastics, swimming & diving and general Florida-branded items. All was in a collaborative effort with communications, marketing and coaching staffs to generate an individual personality and tone while still upholding the Florida Athletics brand.
Prior to Florida, Robinson worked as a ticket office assistant at Marshall from July 2016 to March 2017. He designed social media graphics to increase game day sport information awareness and attendance for multiple athletic events. Other duties included selling and allocating seats for season tickets, ticket operations, renewals and bulk mailings.
Robinson earned his Bachelor's degree in general studies from Michigan in 2015, graduating from the College of Literature, Science and the Arts with an emphasis in marketing. He was a lead sports marketing intern in the athletic department. That included orchestrating in-game activities for various sports to increase fan engagement.
Thomas Northcutt
A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Northcutt arrives in Piscataway after graduating from Auburn in May 2018. He was the first and only four-year men's basketball manager for Tigers' head coach Bruce Pearl. That meant working daily with players and coaches in various areas to prepare for games, practices and other support areas such as front office, equipment and strength and conditioning.
As a freelance designer, he created various graphics for basketball camps, social media and other uses at Auburn. Some other clients included TCU men's basketball, Northwestern State football, the Bruce Pearl Family Foundation and other basketball programs across Division II and III. Northcutt additionally interned within Auburn Athletics, producing graphics and overseeing social media accounts.
Northcutt was an executive board member for the men's basketball Manager Games. He used graphics and social media to share rankings, standings and other information related to the organization. A highlight included coordinating events at the last two Final Fours (2017 in Phoenix, 2018 in San Antonio). Northcutt earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration as a marketing major.
