#NFLKnights: Divisional Playoff Round
Jan 14 | Football
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Four current Rutgers football players competed for their respective teams this weekend during the divisional round of the NFL Playoffs. Duron Harmon, Devin McCourty and Jason McCourty helped New England advance to the AFC Championship game after their 41-28 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. Though inactive for the game, Sebastian Joseph-Day advanced to the NFC Championship game as the Los Angeles Rams defeated Dallas, 30-22, on Saturday. Kemoko Turay also competed for Indianapolis on Saturday in their 31-13 loss to Kansas City.
If Los Angeles and/or New England advance to Super Bowl LIII, it will mark the third consecutive season and 11th time in 15 years that a Scarlet Knight will make it to the NFL's biggest game. A win for New England would give Devin McCourty five-career Super Bowl appearances and Harmon four-career appearances, while Jason McCourty would secure his first trip to the championship game.
