PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's track and field will be sending five Scarlet Knights to the NCAA East Regional hosted by North Florida in Jacksonville, Florida on May 23-25.
Redshirt junior
Rhonda Rogombe is heading off to her third-straight NCAA regional in the high jump. The Charlestown, West Virginia native set a season-best height of 1.78m (5' 10") at the Florida Relays in March, a mark that not only gave Rogombe the meet title, but was also .01m shy of tying the Rutgers outdoor set by Kimberly Fife at the Colonial Relays in 1999. Â As a freshman in 2016, Rogombe set the Rutgers indoor high jump record at 1.80m (5' 10.75").
Fellow high jumper and Big Ten outdoor runner-up
Courteney Campbell also qualified for the NCAA regional and will be making her first appearance following a height of 1.75m (5' 8.75"). The sophomore Scarlet Knight cleared the height twice this season, including capturing her Metropolitan Outdoor Title and as the runner-up at the USF Bulls Invitational. More recently, the Kendall Park, New Jersey product brought home silver from the Big Ten Outdoor championships clearing 1.73m (5' 8").
Senior

Sobieski has had a notable final season "On The Banks", including reaching the finals of the Big Ten Indoor Championships in 800m, as well as helping the Rutgers sprint medley relay team to a new school record at the 125

Freshman

The second Scarlet Knight women's track and field student-athlete to capture a Big Ten title, the Roseland, New Jersey product crossed the finish line in 57.68 with a .01 second margin of victory. Currently ninth in the country and third in the East Region in the event, she secured a season-best time of 57.21 at the Florida Relays in March. Â
