PISCATAWAY, N.J. – The Big Ten Network pregame show will air live outside of SHI Stadium on Friday, Aug. 30 as part of the celebration of the Birthplace of College Football. The network will broadcast coverage as the Scarlet Knights kickoff the season opener against UMass at 7:15 p.m. on BTN.
Prior to kickoff, Rutgers will unveil the "Victory" statue in the north plaza of the stadium to commemorate the 150th anniversary. A re-enactment of the first football game by the Rutgers Theatre students will also be held at the Marco Battaglia Practice Complex and post-game fireworks are planned following the conclusion of the UMass game.
The Birthplace of College Football celebration, presented by RWJBH features seven unique game themes, highlighted by a celebration of the life and legacy of All-American Paul Robeson, past Rutgers All-Americans through the decades and the Believe Game to honor Eric LeGrand.
