
Volleyball Honored With USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – The Rutgers women's volleyball program was honored with the USMC/AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2019-2020 season, marking the third-straight year the Scarlet Knights have been bestowed academic recognition from the organization.
Rutgers was among the 1,313 teams to earn the honor for achieving a year-long grade-point average of a 3.30 or higher for the 2019-20 academic year. During the spring semester, the Scarlet Knights boasted a 3.64 average in the classroom with six Scarlet Knights bringing home a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
Earlier this year, the women's volleyball program earned public recognition from the NCAA for the fifth-straight year with a multi-year Academic Progress Rate score of 1000.
Additionally, ten Scarlet Knights were named Fall Academic All-Big Ten with cumulative GPAs over a 3.0, while four members of the program were honored as Big Ten Distinguished Scholars for attaining a 3.7 GPA or higher during the 2019-20 year. Rising senior Kamila Cieslik along with former Scarlet Knights Stasa Miljevic and Karysa Swackenberg were not only repeat selections, but also among the 24 Scarlet Knights from the athletic department to boast a perfect 4.0 for the academic year.
