Gotterup Named Second Team All-Big Ten
May 05 | Men's Golf
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Senior Christopher Gotterup earned Second Team All-Big Ten honors, announced Wednesday by the conference. The honor comes after he finished tied for sixth at the 2021 Big Ten Championships this past weekend in Carmel, Indiana – highlighted by his tournament-low four-under-par 68 in the final round.
It marks the third consecutive year Gotterup has landed on the all-conference list after he earned first-team laurels last spring and second-team accolades as a sophomore in 2019. The Little Silver, New Jersey, native was named the Big Ten Conference Player of the Year as a junior in 2020 and also collected the league's Les Bolstad Award, given to the lowest conference stroke average that season.
One of the top individuals in the country, Gotterup is currently ranked No. 31 in the latest PGA Tour University rankings. The senior finished the spring with 12 rounds of even or under-par golf and three top-10 individual results, which included his runner-up result at the Schenkel Invitational, his third-place finish at the Rutherford Intercollegiate and his tied-for-sixth performance at the Big Ten Championships. Gotterup was named Big Ten Player of the Week after his second-place finish at the Schenkel Invitational, where he produced a season-low five-under-par 211 (71-69-71).
With more postseason golf still in play, individual selections for the NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championships will be announced today at 2 p.m. ET on the GOLF Channel.
