
Volleyball Nonconference Dates Include Contests at the RAC

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers volleyball completes its 2021 fall schedule announcing its nonconference dates, which includes a program first. The Scarlet Knights will be hosting games at the RAC in September.
RU will open the fall season the last weekend of August at the FGCU Tournament taking on USF and the host Eagles on Friday, Aug. 27 and UMBC on Saturday, Aug. 28.
Rutgers continues tournament play at UConn meeting Central Connecticut State on Friday, Sept. 3 followed by Lafayette and the host Huskies on Saturday, Sept. 4.
The Scarlet Knights will then make its home debut on the floor at the RAC the following weekend with its own tournament. RU welcomes NJIT and NC State on Friday, Sept. 10 and Brown on Saturday, Sept. 11.
The nonconference schedule comes to a close with tournament play at Clemson meeting ETSU and the host Tigers on Friday, Sept. 17.
The 12-game nonconference schedule complements the already announced Big Ten schedule, which includes a 20-game conference slate that includes NCAA national semifinalist Wisconsin, NCAA regionalist finalists Nebraska and Purdue and NCAA regional semifinalists Penn State, Ohio State and Minnesota.
All dates are subject to change. Times, as well as television and stream information, will be announced at a later date.
Head coach Caitlin Schweihofer and her staff enter their second season "On The Banks" after their inaugural year saw the Scarlet Knights triple their conference win total. Rutgers volleyball captured numerous program firsts including its first-ever All-Big Ten honoree and Big Ten series sweeps. RU established new team, season and match records for aces and reset program Big Ten game bests in kills, attempts, attack percentage and assists, as well as individual conference superlatives in attack percentage, assists and digs. Rutgers returns 10 letterwinners from last season and welcomes six newcomers this fall.
