Athletics Mourns Dr. Navarro-Krupka

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers Athletics mourns the sudden loss of Dr. Kristina Navarro-Krupka. The University Wisconsin- Platteville Athletic Director previously served on the senior administration for the Scarlet Knights from 2018-2020.
"Kristina was an incredibly kind, caring, and talented person, and we are deeply saddened to hear of her passing," said Rutgers Athletic Director Pat Hobbs. "Kristina had a passion for working with student-athletes and helping to shape their experience in a positive way. The Rutgers Athletics family extends its condolences to Kristina's husband Nick, her family, friends and all who loved her."
Prior to leading the UW-Platteville, Athletic Department, Navarro-Krupka was the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Leadership Development and Strategic Partnerships at Rutgers. She oversaw the Athletics Office for Leadership Development and Strategic Partnerships (LDSP) as well as supported departmental fundraising efforts. The mission of LDSP was driven by a constant pursuit of excellence, innovation, engagement, and collaboration.
A former track and field student-athlete, Navarro-Krupka earned a B.S. in sport management and business administration with a concentration in strength and conditioning from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2006. She went on to earn a masters of arts in sport administration from North Carolina in 2009. Navarro-Krupka the added a Ph.D. in educational leadership and policy analysis with a focus on higher, postsecondary and continuing education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2012.
