Volleyball Announces 2023 Schedule

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers volleyball announced its 2023 schedule on Wednesday with nonconference tournaments at Virginia, NC State and Columbia, three nonconference home dates and a 20-game Big Ten slate.
The Big Ten home schedule features matchups with five NCAA participants including regional finalist Ohio State, regional semifinalists Minnesota, Nebraska and Penn State along with second-round contestant Purdue while nonconference home dates include in-state competition with Princeton and Rider along with Marist.
The 2023 season begins the weekend of August 25-26 at the Virginia Tournament in Charlottesville, Virginia with Rutgers facing North Carolina A&T and either Virginia or Rider.
Nonconference tournament play continues with the NC State Tournament August 31-September 2 as the Scarlet Knights take on Winthrop, the host Wolfpack and Howard.
Rutgers opens its nonconference home schedule with Rider on Wednesday, September 6 and has a short weekend trip to New York on September 8 and 9 for the Columbia Tournament playing against Morgan State and the host Lions.
The nonconference schedule concludes with a pair of home games with the Scarlet Knights hosting Marist on Wednesday, September 13 and Princeton on Friday, September 15.
Big Ten Conference play starts on the road with Penn State on Wednesday, September 20 with the month closing with a pair of home dates against Purdue on Sunday, September 24 and Maryland on Wednesday, September 27.
October is a road-heavy month for the Scarlet Knights with six of nine matches away from the Garden State. The month begins at Michigan State on Sunday, October 1 with RU returning home the following weekend to host Ohio State on Friday, October 6 and Minnesota on Saturday, October 7. The Scarlet Knights are back on the road for their next three contests at Wisconsin on Friday, October 13, at Illinois on Sunday, October 15 and to conclude the season series at Minnesota on Friday, October 20. Rutgers is back "On The Banks" to end another series hosting Illinois on Sunday, October 22, and ends the month at Iowa on Friday, October 27 and Nebraska on Saturday, October 28.
In November, Rutgers will be at home in five of eight matchups kicking off the month by welcoming Indiana on Friday, November 3 and wrapping up the season series with Nebraska on Sunday, November 5. RU concludes another season series traveling to Indiana on Friday, November 10 and follows with a three-game homestand. The Scarlet Knights open with Michigan on Sunday, November 12, continue the homestand with Northwestern on Friday, November 17 and will conclude the home portion of the 2023 schedule wrapping up the season series with Michigan State on Saturday, November 18. The regular season comes to an end with road dates at Maryland on Friday, November 24 and at Ohio State on Saturday, November 25.
All Rutgers volleyball home games will be played at either Jersey Mike's Arena in Piscataway or the College Avenue Gym in New Brunswick. Venue, game times, television and video stream information for 2023 matches will be available at a later date. Admission to all home games is free.
