Wrestling Weekend Ahead: Six Set for Lehigh's Sheridan Tournament

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 17 Rutgers wrestling (8-2) sends six student-athletes to Lehigh's Sheridan Tournament, held Friday at Stabler Arena in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. The all-day tournament features wrestlers from host Lehigh, Brown, Drexel, Franklin & Marshall, Indiana and Virginia. Live results and a live stream can be found on FloWrestling.com.

- Rutgers added three dual wins to its ledger last weekend, earning victories over Clarion (38-6), Gardner-Webb (32-6) and Kent State (42-3) in road action.
- The Scarlet Knights won 26 out of 30 bouts across its three dual wins, adding five pins with falls from Brian Soldano (184) (2), John O'Donnell (HWT), John Poznanski (197) and Jackson Turley (174).
- Joseph Olivieri (141) picked up a 4-0 decision over No. 25 Todd Carter (Gardner-Webb) to add a ranked win to his resume.

- Mitch Moore, now an assistant at Bloomsburg, went 4-0 en route to an individual title at 141 pounds at last year's Sheridan Tournament. Moore defeated No. 11 Malyke Hines (Lehigh) by 12-4 major decision to secure the 141-pound championship.
- Brandan Chletsos also placed for the Scarlet Knights, wrestling back to a third-place finish.

- For the sixth consecutive week, Rutgers remained No. 17 in this week's NWCA Coaches poll, joining fellow Big Ten programs No. 1 Penn State, No. 2 Iowa, No. 4 Nebraska, No. 5 Ohio State, No. 8 Minnesota, No. 9 Michigan, No. 11 Illinois and No. 24 Maryland in the rankings.
- Eleven Scarlet Knights remained in the national rankings this week. Olivieri was the biggest mover, moving to as high as No. 17 (AWN) thanks to his win over then-No. 25cTodd Carter (Gardner-Webb).
