PISCATAWAY, N.J. – No. 14 Rutgers wrestling (11-5, 4-4) closes its dual season with Bloomsburg (4-15, 0-8) on Wednesday night at Jersey Mike's Arena. The out-of-conference match is set for 7 p.m. and will broadcast on Big Ten Plus, with Nick Kosko and Matt Howe on the call.

- RU defeated Maryland, 27-12, last Friday night in front of 3,895 fans at Jersey Mike's Arena. Rutgers worked a 7-3 match split with the Terrapins, including a fall from No. 19 Brian Soldano (184) and ranked wins from No. 9 Dylan Shawver (133), No. 21 Mitch Moore (141) and Al DeSantis (157).
- RU never trailed against the visitors, winning its first three bouts of the night and four consecutive out of intermission. Soldano, DeSantis and No. 19 Dean Peterson (125) collected bonus to help Rutgers pick up its 11th win of the season, ninth consecutive over Maryland and the 220th dual win of head coach Scott Goodale's career.
- During the match, Rutgers honored UFC Hall of Fame inductee and former assistant coach Frankie Edgar, as well as 2024 Olympic qualifier Sebastian Rivera. Edgar worked as an assistant at Rutgers from 2007-10. Rivera wrestled two seasons for the Scarlet Knights and earned an NCAA bronze medal in 2022.

- Rutgers has produced 10 or more dual wins in a season for the 15th time under head coach Scott Goodale.
- The Scarlet Knights have wrestled six consecutive opponents who are either ranked or received votes in the latest NWCA Coaches Poll. The gauntlet included top-12 matchups with No. 1 Penn State, No. 7 Ohio State, No. 10 Michigan and No. 12 Minnesota.
- The second NCAA coaches' ranking was released on Thursday. Rutgers features eight wrestlers within the top 33 of their respective weight classes – No. 8 Dylan Shawver (133), No. 10 Yaraslau Slavikouski (HWT), No. 17 Jackson Turley (174), No. 18 John Poznanski (197), No. 19 Mitch Moore (141), No. 20 Brian Soldano (184), No. 21 Dean Peterson (125) and No. 28 Michael Cetta (149).
- Shawver defeated No. 16 Braxton Brown (Maryland) last Friday for his third consecutive top-16 win. The Lorain, Ohio, native has also defeated No. 6 Aaron Nagao (Penn State) and No. 12 Nic Bouzakis (Ohio State) during ranked winning streak.
- Shawver leads the team with 20 wins and 53 dual points.
- The Huskies enter Wednesday with a 4-15 dual record, losing to Cleveland State, 40-5, on Saturday in their last time out.
- Bloomsburg sent Josh Mason to nationals last season under head coach Marcus Gordon.
- Bloomsburg leads the all-time series with Rutgers, 7-6. The Scarlet Knights have won the past two meetings, including a 45-0 victory over the Huskies last season at Bloomsburg.
- Assistant coach Steve Mytych was on staff at Bloomsburg from 2019-20.
- Several student-athletes will compete at The Open Zingo Nationals on Sunday, March 3 at Franklin Township High School. Rutgers will wrestle at the 2024 Big Ten Championships from March 9-10 in College Park, Maryland.
