
Labriola, Shawver Set for Senior World Championships

ZAGREB, Croatia – Graduate student Dylan Shawver and assistant coach Mikey Labriola from Rutgers wrestling are set to compete at the Senior World Championships, beginning Saturday in Zagreb, Croatia. Both competing for Team Puerto Rico, Shawver (61kg) begins action tomorrow morning at 4:30 a.m. ET, while Labriola wrestles beginning on Sunday at 4:30 a.m. ET.

Labriola begins his second season on staff at Rutgers in 2025-26 after a standout collegiate career at Nebraska. During his time with the Cornhuskers, Labriola produced 120 collegiate victories and established himself as one of the top 174-pound wrestlers in the country. Labriola was a five-time Big Ten place winner, five-time national qualifier and five-time All-American for the Cornhuskers. During his final season with the Cornhuskers, Labriola went 30-2 en route to runner-up finish at the Big Ten and national championships.
