Publicity Prior to Commitment:
Rutgers may comment publicly about a prospective student-athlete only to confirm the recruitment of that prospect. Rutgers may like, favorite, or retweet any social media post about a prospect provided it is not generated by and does not reference any recruiting or scouting service.
It is not permissible for athletic staff or student-athletes to comment on a prospect's ability or potential contribution to the team; or on the likelihood of a prospect's signing with or enrolling at Rutgers. It is also not permissible to publicize a prospect's visit to Rutgers' campus. These restrictions are in place until the prospect has:
- Signed a National Letter of Intent;
- Signed the institution's written offer of athletic aid; or
- Paid a financial deposit in response to an offer of admission.
Publicity After Commitment:
There are no restrictions on publicity related to a prospect, after he or she has completed one of the above actions.
