Mo Fahmy begins his first season as technical director on Caitlin Schweihofer’s staff.
Fahmy arrives “On The Banks” as serving as the Director of Operations/Technical Director with LOVB Austin Pro Volleyball, where he was the team’s technical coordinator and an assistant coach. While with the organization, LOVB Austin Pro Volleyball led the league in blocking, finished third in the LOVB Cup and had a member named to the Dream Team as the best outside hitter.
Prior to working with LOVB Austin Pro Volleyball, Fahmy was the technical director and assistant coach at Villanova, taking the lead on scouring reports and match preparations in addition to coaching setters and focusing on the Wildcats’ offensive systems. During his time on the sidelines, Villanova qualified for the Big East Tournament, earned two Big East All-Conference selections, as well as Big East Freshman of the Year and an AVCA All-Region Team member. The Wildcats finished second in the Big East in total assists and aces and third in the league in hitting percentage.
Also at the club level, Fahmy spent four years as a coach with the Mill City Volleyball Club in Lowell, Massachusetts, which included a second-place finish at AAU club nationals in 2023. Fahmy and the club were named to the inaugural class of AVCA Winners Circle Club teams, which honored club teams from all age groups that won 70 percent or more of their matches while competing at the national level.
Fahmy began his coaching career with stops at Merrimack College, helping the program make a transition into Division I, as an assistant coach for a professional men's volleyball team in Egypt, as well as the head coach of the U-18 women's team at El Zohor Sporting Club.
On the court, Fahmy spent three seasons playing for the American University in Cairo, finishing in third place in the conference each year and earning a National Championship Appearance. Fahmy was also a four-year member of the Shooting Club volleyball team, as well as a two-time U-19 Egyptian National Team member.
Fahmy was twice named the Best Setter in Giza State, as well as the 2009 Rising Talent of the Year, a 2011 collegiate national championship all-tournament selection and a 2012 all-star team selection in the Professional Super League.
A 2015 graduate of The Ohio State, Fahmy earned a BA in political science.
