BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Senior QB Mike Teel (Oakland, N.J.) led the Scarlet Knights on a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter as the Rutgers football team (8-5, 5-2 BIG EAST) earned its third-consecutive bowl victory, defeating NC State 29-23 in the PapaJohns.com Bowl on Monday in Birmingham, Ala. Rutgers Junior WR Kenny Britt Declares for 2009 NFL Draft
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Junior All-America wide receiver Kenny Britt (Bayonne, N.J.) has elected to forego his final year of eligibility and enter the 2009 NFL Draft. The nation’s second-leading receiver in yards per game in 2008, Britt finished his career as the BIG EAST’s all-time leader in receiving yards (3,043) in 34 games. FULL STORY

Building and competing among the elite college football teams in the nation requires an unbridled level of dedication and commitment by every member of the program. Rutgers football is built on the foundation of individuals who take their duties seriously and are steadfast in accomplishing a common goal of being the best they can be.
At times some of the most dedicated are those that often go unseen by the public. If not intimately involved with the program, it would be difficult for an outsider to understand how important these individuals' work ethic and contributions are to the success of the team.
Some may serve on the scout team, learning the opponent's system while also continuing to practice the Rutgers game plan. Others may see their role on the team shift, becoming more of a special teams contributor as opposed to seeing time in the regular rotation. Then there are those, who by some unfortunate mishap are unable to take part in on-the-field activities, but still remain a vital member in the locker room.
