No. 23 Women's Soccer Travels to Iowa, RV Nebraska

Scarlet Knights set for ESPNU matchup with the Cornhuskers

PISCATAWAY, N.J. –  No. 23 Rutgers women's travels to Iowa and RV Nebraska, meeting with the Hawkeyes first on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET. The Scarlet Knights then visit the Cornhuskers Sunday for a nationally televised matchup on ESPNU at 4 p.m. ET.

RUTGERS QUICK KICKS
  • Over the weekend, then-No. 16 Rutgers (9-1-2, 3-1-1) spilt its contests. Despite suffering its first loss of the season to Minnesota, 2-1, on Friday, the Scarlet Knights bounced back with a 1-0 overtime victory over then-No. 12 Wisconsin.
  • Freshman forward Amirah Ali only needed 26 seconds in overtime with the Golden Gophers, scoring the game winner from 10-yards out with assists from senior forward Colby Ciarrocca and junior defender Kenie Wright.
  • The Scarlet Knights are tied for the nation lead in shutout percentage with 10 shutouts across 12 games this season. Redshirt junior goalkeeper Casey Murphy is tied for first with 10 shutouts in net, while ranking fourth with a 0.240 GAA and a 0.919 save percentage.
  • On the season, Ciarrocca leads the team with six goals along with three assists, while Ali follows with five goals and three assists of her own.
  • RU is ranked in all three major polls, including No. 13 by TopDrawerSoccer.com and No. 25 by Soccer America.
SCOUTING IOWA
  • Iowa (5-5-1, 0-3-1 Big Ten) played to a 2-2 double-overtime draw at Michigan on Friday before suffering a 3-2 loss at Michigan State on Sunday.
  • Devin Burns leads the team with 15 points, including six goals and three assists.
  • Kaleigh Haus and Olivia Fiegel follow with five goals each, while Natalie Winters has contributed five assists.
  • In net, Claire Graves maintains a 1.41 GAA in 960:48 minutes to go along with 32 saves.
SERIES VS. THE HAWKEYES
  • Rutgers and Iowa are tied at 2-2 in the all-time series dating back to 2003.
  • Most recently, RU earned a 2-0 victory at UI on Oct. 28, 2015.
SCOUTING NEBRASKA
  • Over the weekend, Nebraska (7-3-2, 1-1-2 Big Ten) picked up a 3-0 win at Michigan State on Friday and a 1-1 tie at Michigan on Sunday.
  • Nebraska is receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches Poll this week. Most notably, the Huskers played then-No. 7 Penn State to a 1-1 draw.
  • Elyse Huber paces the squad with six goals and an assist this season, while Brenna Ochoa has recorded a team high five assists.
  • Aubrei Corder owns a 0.55 GAA across 1139:41 minutes in net, including 29 saves.
  • Nebraska will host Maryland on Thursday before welcoming Rutgers.
SERIES VS. THE HUSKERS
  • The only two meetings between the Scarlet Knights and Cornhuskers have ended in a tie.
  • Last season, Rutgers and Nebraska played to a 0-0 double-overtime draw at Yurcak Field.
