Two-time All-Big Ten selection set for final season at Rutgers
PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's lacrosse defender Amanda Casten was selected by the Philadelphia Force in the 2018 United Women's Lacrosse League (UWLX) Draft. The Scarlet Knight was taken in the 13th round and was the 50th overall selection.
A two-time All-Big Ten selection, Casten anchored the RU defense with 21 ground balls, 10 draw controls and 12 caused turnovers in 2017. In RU's 12-9 victory over then-No. 18 James Madison, the Brick, New Jersey, native forced two turnovers and corralled two ground balls to help Rutgers secure the road win.
Rutgers finished 2017 with an 8-8 record, which included two wins in Big Ten Conference action. The Scarlet Knights picked up a ranked victory over then-No. 18 James Madison, and also defeated Michigan and Ohio State during conference play last spring.
