Women’s Lacrosse Announces 2017 Fall Schedule

Scarlet Knights to host three events during offseason action

PISCATAWAY, N.J. – Rutgers women's lacrosse announced its 2017 fall schedule on Tuesday. The five-event slate includes two home tournaments, along with the Scarlet Knights' Alumnae Game at the Busch Bubble.
 
RU opens the fall on Saturday, Sept. 23, when it hosts Marist and Villanova at the F3 practice fields. Rutgers then travels to Baltimore for the Johns Hopkins Play Day on Sunday, Oct. 8, when it competes against the host Blue Jays along with UMBC and Villanova.
 
The following Sunday, Rutgers returns to the F3 practice fields to host the Headstrong Fall Tournament on Oct.15, which features Fairfield, Sienna and Wagner. A total of 41 NCAA men's and women's lacrosse programs will participate in HEADstrong's Fall Event Series, which consists of nine tournaments across the country.
 
The Scarlet Knights close out the home portion of its schedule on Friday, Oct. 20 when they host their Alumnae Game inside the Busch Bubble. RU's final action of the fall occurs on Wednesday, Oct. 27 when it travels to Philadelphia to take on La Salle.

The Scarlet Knights finished 8-8 during the 2017 season, which included a 2-4 mark in Big Ten Conference play. RU recorded a ranked win over then-No. 18 James Madison and also collected wins against Ohio State and Michigan during the spring.
