  • First career start (1): WR Hunter Hayek
    • Joins WR Bo Melton (two starts) as true freshmen to start a game on offense or defense through four games.
  • After making two previous starts at center, OL Jonah Jackson made his first start at right guard.
TEAM NOTES
  • Rutgers and Nebraska met in a Big Ten game for the third time in four years. Overall, the Cornhuskers lead the all-time series, 4-0, with two wins at Memorial Stadium.
  • Rutgers put together an 11-play, 75-yard drive that ended with a rushing touchdown on its first offensive possession of the game. The team has scored on its opening drive twice this season and scored first in 3-of-4 games overall.
  • Rutgers scored on both of its trips inside the red zone to improve to 14-of-15 this season.

  • DB Blessuan Austin
    • Recorded his third career interception in the first half to lead to a field goal. All three picks have come against Big Ten West opponents (2015 at Wisconsin, 2016 vs. Illinois, 2017 at Nebraska).
    • Now has 22 career passes defended in 26 games (19 pass break-ups, three interceptions)
  • QB Kyle Bolin
    • Tied his career-long rush with an 11-yard gain in the first half, previously happening for Louisville versus Virginia in 2015.
  • RB Gus Edwards
    • Had a two-yard touchdown run in the first quarter for second score as a Scarlet Knight and 14th overall.
  • PK Andrew Harte
    • Connected on a 33-yard field goal for fourth consecutive make.
  • DB Kiy Hester
    • Snagged his second interception in as many weeks and returned it 33 yards for a touchdown.
    • Now has three career picks.
    • First pick-six for Rutgers since Damon Hayes (55 yards) at Minnesota in 2016.
  • LB Trevor Morris
    • Had a game-high 12 tackles to tie or lead the team for the fifth time in his career.
