A four-time all-conference selection during his collegiate playing career, Austin Eoff enters his second season as an assistant coach for the Rutgers men’s golf program in 2018-19. Eoff, who competed at Purdue from 2013-17, is a four-time All-Big Ten player and represented the Boilermakers at the 2014, 2015 and 2017 NCAA Championships.
“As a four-time all-conference selection, Austin’s knowledge and experience will provide our program with tools to succeed in the Big Ten,” said head coach Rob Shutte upon Eoffs’ hiring last summer. “We’re excited to welcome Austin to Rutgers.”
Along with his coaching duties, Eoff is responsible for cultivating swing and course statistics, scheduling practices, recruiting and managing social media content.
With the help of Eoff, the programs' two rookies – Christopher Gotterup and Oliver Whatley – shined during their first collegiate seasons. Gotterup – a PING All-Northeast selection during his first collegiate season – carded a top-20 finish at the Big Ten Championships and was the program leader in top individual finishes with five. Whatley claimed an individual title at the Janney Invitational during the fall, as both Gotterup and Whatley co-led the team with 33 rounds played.
Prior to arriving "On the Banks" in the summer fo 2017, Eoff closed out his senior campaign ranking third on the Purdue single-season stroke average list at 72.38 strokes per round. The career leader in stroke average (72.72), Eoff became the third player in school history to be named All-Big Ten four times. Eoff was also named a Division I Ping All-Region selection for the fourth time in his career.
The Benton, Arkansas, native owns the school record for consecutive top-10 finishes (8), which he accomplished from the spring of 2015 to the spring of 2016.
Eoff currently resides in Bound Brook, New Jersey with his wife, Shelby.
