Meaghan Asselta (Ramsey, NJ) gave the Scarlet Knights the lead when she hit a home run into left field with two outs in the sixth inning. Jen Jacoby (Agoura Hills, CA) was on first after hitting a single up the middle and scored on Asselta's first career home run.
Crissy Strimple answered with a homer of her own to lead off in the bottom of the sixth, tying the score at two. The game ended in the bottom of the seventh when Holly Reynolds reached home on Danielle Olsen's single to left center.
The third hit of the game for the Scarlet Knights was by Jenny Card (Miami, FL), who led off the seventh inning and almost started an offensive rally with a single.
Andria Koehler (Sellersville, PA) pitched six and a half innings for the Scarlet Knights, giving up nine hits and three earned runs. She struck out three and gave up no walks. Brielle Cosentino (Carlstadt, NJ) finished the game for RU, pitching the last at bat of the game.
