RU Women's Golf Places 14th at James Madison Invitational

HARRISONBURG, VA – The Rutgers women’s golf team finished 14th in the Bonnie Hoover/James Madison Invitational on Sunday, carding a 1,020 (355-336-329) for the two-day tournament.
Host James Madison won the event, held at the par-72 Lakeview Golf Club, firing a 935 (322-305-308) for the tournament. Individually, Princeton’s Avery Kiser took top honors with a three-round total of 224 (75-71-78).
Rutgers was led by senior Kathleen Freer (Voorhees, NJ) who shot an aggregate score of 252 (88-86-78) for the event to tie for 46th. Sophomore Kathleen Kennedy (Annandale, NJ) tied for 53rd in the tournament with a three-round total of 254 (88-85-81). Just one stroke back was sophomore Caitlin Flynn (Fairfield, CT) with a 255 (88-84-83), tying her for 58th. Junior Amanda Lennox (Narragansett, RI) finished tied for 73rd with a score of 262 (91-81-90), while sophomore Mary Stewart (Scottsdale, AZ) finished 77th with a score of 265 (91-87-87).
The Scarlet Knights are hoping for a berth in next weekend’s BIG EAST Championships in South Bend, IN.
