Women's Golf Finishes Seventh at Dartmouth Invitational

HANOVER, NH - The Rutgers women’s golf team opened its 2003 fall season with a seventh place finish out of 18 teams at the Dartmouth Invitational, held at the par-72 Hanover Country Club over the weekend. The Scarlet Knights shot a team score of 648 (318-330) in the two-round event.
Princeton won the team competition, carding a 599 (299-300) for the tournament, while the Tigers’ Avery Kiser took individual honors with a two-round score of 144 (73-71).
Rutgers was led by junior Mary Stewart (Scottsdale, AZ) who fired a 153 (72-81) to tie for fifth overall. Stewart was the tournament’s leader at the end of Saturday’s round with her even-par 72.
Junior Caitlin Flynn (Fairfield, CT), senior Amanda Lenox (Narragansett, RI) and junior Kathleen Kennedy (Annandale, NJ) finished within three strokes of each other on the two-day event. Flynn shot 170 (89-81) for the championship, while Lenox carded a two-round score of 171 (87-84), and Kennedy was one stroke behind her with a score of 172 (83-89).
Rutgers will be back in action Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 27-28 at the Notre Dame Invitational in South Bend, IN.
