Women's Golf Finishes 12th at Notre Dame Invitational

NOTRE DAME, IN - The Rutgers women's golf team finished play at the Notre Dame Invitational on Sunday, tying for 12th place in the three-round tournament with a score of 1,034 (348-341-345).
The two-day event, held at the 6,003-yard, par-72 Warren Golf Course, was won by tournament-host Notre Dame with a score of 938 (306-320-312). Western Michigan's Stephanie Donkin took individual honors with a 12-over-par 228 (75-79-74).
Junior Mary Stewart (Scottsdale, AZ) paced Rutgers with a score of 258 (84-88-86) in the two-day tournament to finish 62nd overall. Freshman Ashley Fowler (Scottsdale, AZ) tied for 64th place with a three-round score of 260 (90-88-82). Junior Kathleen Kennedy (Annandale, NJ) finished 68th with a three-round score of 263 (89-84-90), while freshman Lauren Braswell (Basking Ridge, NJ) was one stroke behind with rounds of 89-85-90.
Junior Caitlin Flynn (Fairfield, CT) carded a 268 (86-95-87) to tie for 74th, finishing one stroke ahead of senior Amanda Lennox (Narragansett, NJ),who registered rounds of 95-84-90, to finish in a tie for 76th.
The women will return to action next Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 4-5, traveling to New Haven, CT, to compete in the Yale Invitational.
