Rutgers Women's Golf Places Sixth at Lady Eagle Invitational

SANDWICH, MA – The Rutgers women’s golf team carded a 684 (355-329) to place sixth at the ninth annual Lady Eagle Invitational on Sunday.
The two-round event, held at the par-71 Ridge Club on Saturday and Sunday saw Georgetown capture the team championship in the 12-school tournament with a 638 (326-312). GU’s Christy Larrimore took the individual crown with a seven-over-par, 149 (76-73) for the tournament.
Freshman Lauren Braswell (Basking Ridge, NJ) led the Scarlet Knights with a 169 (90-79) for two rounds to place 24th out of 67 golfers. Fellow newcomer Ashley Fowler (Scottsdale, AZ) was one stroke behind with a 170 (88-82) to tie for 25th.
Juniors Noel Picca (Irving, TX) and Mary Stewart (Scottsdale, AZ) fired a 172 and 173 respectively. Picca carded rounds of 89 and 83 to tie for 31st, while Stewart shot an 88 and 85 for her two rounds to tie for 35th.
Senior Amanda Lennox (Narragansett, RI) recorded a 182 (97-85) for the tournament to place 48th.
The women will be back in action next Saturday and Sunday, April 10-11, at the James Madison Invitational in Harrisonburg, VA.
