PISCATAWAY, NJ – Senior Rudy Medini (Colonia, NJ) and sophomore Ramel Meekins (Westwood, NJ) have been listed on the NWCA/InterMat/National Wrestling Media Association NCAA Division I Preseason Individual Rankings.
Medini, wrestling out of the 184-pound class, was ranked ninth in the nation. Meekins, wrestling out of the heavyweight class, was ranked as the 12th best heavyweight in the nation.
Medini is coming off of an injury plagued 2004-2005 season, but returns at 100 percent and will look to close out his Rutgers career on a high note.
Meekins saw limited mat time last season, but will return at full strength for the Scarlet Knights, once the Rutgers football season comes to a close. Meekins has been a standout member of the football team, playing a major role on the defensive line for the 6-2 Scarlet Knights.
