Rutgers Women's Basketball to Host 'Meet the Team' Event

PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Rutgers women's basketball program will host its annual 'Meet the Team' event Sunday, Nov. 6, at the Louis Brown Athletic Center from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Admission is free and the event is open to the public. Fans will get their first chance to meet the 2005-2006 Scarlet Knights, and will be treated to contests, games, an autograph session, and much more!
RU, ranked third by Lindy's, 11th by Athlon Sports and 16th by Street & Smith's this preseason, posted a 28-7 overall record and a 14-2 mark in BIG EAST Conference play last season, winning its first outright BIG EAST regular-season title and advancing to its second consecutive BIG EAST Tournament championship game. Rutgers reached the Elite Eight of the 2005 NCAA Tournament and finished seventh in the final WBCA/ESPN/USA Today Top 25 Poll.
Rutgers, which returns nine letterwinners and four starters from last season's Elite Eight team, will host a preseason exhibition Saturday, Nov. 19, against the NY/NJ Gazelles AAU Team at 2:00 p.m. The Scarlet Knights will officially begin the 2005-2006 campaign on Grand Bahama Island, competing at the Junkanoo Jam Nov. 25-26, and will play their first regular-season home game Tuesday, Nov. 29, at 7:30 p.m. against Bethune-Cookman.
