Pondexter Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Rutgers fifth-year senior Cappie Pondexter (Chicago, IL) has been named to the BIG EAST Conference Women's Basketball Honor Roll for the second straight week, the league office announced Dec. 5.
The 5-9 guard was named the Most Valuable Player at the KCRG-TV9 Hawkeye Challenge in Iowa City, IA. Against San Jose State Dec. 3, she poured in 26 points, making three of four (.750) three-pointers, dished a team-best six assists and tied for second on the club with six rebounds while playing all 40 minutes. In the championship game Dec. 4 against Iowa, Pondexter contributed 22 points, two assists and a pair of steals.
