Rutgers Women's Tennis Beats Temple, 5-2

PISCATAWAY, NJ – Rutgers received victories at third thought sixth singles, respectively, to earn a hard-fought 5-2 victory over Temple on Friday afternoon in Piscataway.
After falling at first doubles, the Scarlet Knights (3-2) got a much-needed win from Helen Magomedova and Katrina Elder-Bush, who were victories at second doubles, 8-3. Alina Balasa and Lauren Edelschein assured that RU won the team doubles point with an 8-4 triumph at third doubles.
In singles play, the Owls won at first and second singles in straight sets, but freshman Anela Dujsic won a three-set match at third singles, 7-5, 4-6, 7-6 (5) and Balasa won at fourth singles in straight sets. Edelschein and Magomedova assured RU’s victory with triumphs at fifth and sixth singles, respectively.
Rutgers returns to action on Sunday, Feb. 20, when it hosts Syracuse in its BIG EAST opener at 10:00 a.m.
