Prince Named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week

PISCATAWAY, N.J. -Rutgers University guard Epiphanny Prince (Brooklyn, N.Y.) has been named the BIG EAST Women's Basketball Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday afternoon.
The 5-9 newcomer is averaging 19.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.3 steals per game in the Scarlet Knights' first three outings. In her first collegiate contest on Nov. 12 versus Georgia, Prince tallied 14 points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Prince contributed 15 points on 6-of-9 shooting at Pepperdine on Nov. 17, adding four rebounds and three steals. She saved her best performance for the close of the week, pouring in a game-high 29 points - off the bench - in a victory over Florida. Prince, who shot 11-of-15 from the floor versus the Gators, dished out a team-best eight assists.
The Scarlet Knights (1-2), ranked 18th in the latest Associated Press poll released today, face Penn State on Friday, November 24 at 8:30 p.m. EST in the Paradise Jam Tournament in St Thomas, VI.
