Rutgers Soccer Members to Compete at USYSA Nationals

PISCATAWAY, NJ - Five members of the Rutgers women's soccer program will take part in the U.S. Youth Soccer Association (USYSA) Under-18 National Championship July 25-30 in Des Moines, IA.
The five are members of the PDA Wildcats, the Region I champions. Rutgers associate head coach Mike O'Neillis serving as one of the coaches for the Wildcats, while incoming RU freshmen Jennifer Anzivino (Middletown, NJ), Gina DeMaio (Parsippany, NJ), Jennifer Dexter (Roxbury, NJ) and Erin Guthrie (Sparta, NJ) are competing as members of the team.
The USYSA is divided into four regions of 16 teams each. The winners of those four regions will now meet in Salt Lake City for the national championship. The Wildcats will face the San Diego Surf Wednesday, July 26, at 10:30 a.m.; the Dallas Texans 88 Red North Thursday, July 27, at 8:30 a.m.; and the Eclipse (IL) Select Friday, July 28, at 10:30 a.m. The championship match will be contested Sunday, July 30, at 8:45 a.m.
The Wildcats won the 2005-2006 Las Vegas Showcase and were selected as the nation's number-two club team by Soccer America, a ranking based on the team's performances for the last three years.
