Rutgers Women's Tennis Announces Fall Schedule

PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Rutgers University women's tennis team has announced its fall schedule for 2006.
Rutgers will compete in four tournaments this fall, kicking off the year at the Princeton Invitational from Friday, Sept. 15 to Sunday, Sept. 17.
Two weekends later, the Scarlet Knights will travel to Brown for its annual invitational to be held Friday, Sept. 29 through Sunday, Oct. 1.
On Oct. 7, Rutgers will play at the United States Tennis Association (USTA) Invitational, held at the U.S. National Tennis Center in Flushing, NY. The tournament will run three days, concluding on Monday, Oct. 9.
To wrap up the fall slate, the Scarlet Knights will compete at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Regional Tournament at Dartmouth. The tournament will run from Friday, Oct. 20 to Tuesday, Oct. 24, with winners of the singles and doubles brackets advancing to the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships hosted by The Ohio State University at the Racquet Club of Columbus from Nov. 2-5.
The Scarlet Knights finished 14-10 last season, 8-4 in the BIG EAST and earned a bid to the conference tournament. Rutgers fell to eventual champion, Notre Dame in the second round following a first-round victory over Marquette.
