Rice Named Co-BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Rutgers tailback Ray Rice was named the BIG EAST Conference co-Offensive Player of the Week on Monday.
Rice carried the ball 31 times for 201 yards (6.5 avg.) and three touchdowns in a 21-16 win at North Carolina on Saturday. The 31 carries and three touchdowns were career highs. The 201 yards was just 16 shy of his career best set last season versus UConn. Rice has now gone over the 100-yard mark in three consecutive games dating back to last season.
In addition, senior cornerback Manny Collins was named to the league's weekly honor roll after recording two interceptions in the win. Collins leads the nation in interceptions while Rice is second nationally in rushing.
