Scarlet Knights to Depart for Final Four on Thursday

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Fans of the Rutgers women's basketball team can show their favorite team support and send them off in style when the Scarlet Knights depart campus Thursday, March 29 for their trip to Cleveland and the 2007 NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four.
The "Final Four Sendoff" will take place in the lobby of the Rutgers Athletic Center Thursday (March 29) beginning at 2:00 p.m. Head Coach C. Vivian Stringer and members of the Scarlet Knights will address the assembled fans before departing for Newark Airport and their flight to Cleveland.
The Scarlet Knights (26-8) advanced to their first Final Four berth since 2000 and will face LSU (30-7) in the first national semifinal game on Sunday, April 1, at 7 p.m. at Quicken Loans Arena. Rutgers, the No. 4 seed in the Greensboro Region, knocked off East Carolina, Michigan State, Duke and Arizona State to punch its ticket to the Final Four. LSU, the No. 3 seed in the Fresno Region, defeated UNC Asheville, West Virginia, Florida State and Connecticut to advance to Cleveland.
In the second semifinal game on Sunday night, Tennessee (32-3), the top-seed in the Dayton Regional will face North Carolina (34-3) the No. 1 seed in the Dallas Regional. The Volunteers defeated Drake, Marist, Pittsburgh and Mississippi to earn their berth in the Final four, while the Tar Heels moved on with wins over Prairie View, Notre Dame, George Washington and Purdue.
The semifinal winners will play for the national championship on April 3 at 8:30 p.m. All three games will be televised on ESPN. The Scarlet Knights' games can also be heard on the Rutgers Women's Basketball Radio Network, with WCTC 1450 AM serving as the flagship station.
