Rutgers Women's Tennis Falls to Columbia, 6-1

NEW YORK, N.Y. - The Rutgers women's tennis dropped a non-conference match-up with Columbia University, 6-1, on Saturday. With the loss, RU drops to 3-5 overall, 1-2 in the BIG EAST.
The Lions swept the doubles competition and in singles, freshman Caitlin Baker (Altoona, Pa.) was the lone winner. At the fourth singles slot, Baker opened up with a 6-4 win in the first set, before dropping the second, 7-6, 7-3 in the tiebreaker. In the third-set replacing tiebreaker, Baker came out with a 10-8 win. The singles victory is Baker's fourth of the season.
Rutgers till play in-state rival Princeton on the road on Wednesday, March 7, at 6:00 p.m. at the Jadwin Gym Courts.
