2007 Women's Basketball Banquet to be Held April 29

PISCATAWAY, NJ - The Rutgers women's basketball team will hold its Annual Awards Banquet on Sunday, April 29, at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick. The event will begin at 2 p.m. with a reception.
The Scarlet Knights will honor its athletes with the annual team awards. In addition, the event will celebrate Rutgers first-ever BIG EAST Women's Championship captured Tuesday, March 6, with a win over Connecticut in the tournament final.
The newest inductee into the Rutgers Basketball Hall of Fame on the women's side, former standout Tomora Young, will also be honored at the Banquet. Young helped lead the Scarlet Knights to back-to-back NCAA Tournament berths, including a trip to the Elite Eight in 1999 and the Sweet Sixteen in 1998. The 5-10 guard received All-BIG EAST honors for three straight seasons and is currently Rutgers' record holder in three-point field goals made in a single season with 71. The Red Bank, N.J., native sits second all-time with 180 three-pointers in her career.
The Banquet will begin with the 2:00 p.m. reception at the Hyatt Regency (2 Albany Street, New Brunswick), followed by dinner at 3 p.m. For more information, download the reservation form or call the Rutgers women's basketball office at (732) 445-4251.
