DeMoustes Named Assistant Volleyball Coach

PISCATAWAY, N.J. - Rutgers University women's volleyball head coach Orlando Gonzalez has announced the addition of Greg DeMoustes as an assistant coach for the 2007 season.
DeMoustes most recently served as the head women's volleyball coach at Chatham High School in Chatham, N.J. DeMoustes guided the team to a 28-2 record, while appearing in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association Group 2 State Finals for the first time in school history.
"Greg brings a great deal of experience as a player and coach," said Gonzalez. "His years of coaching at various levels will give him a unique background of knowledge to help our young team this year."
In addition to his duties as an assistant coach at Rutgers, DeMoustes remains the Atlantic Valley Volleyball Club Head Women's National Team Coach/Technical Advisor. He is in charge of practices, scheduling, statistical reporting and analysis, academic monitoring, off-court nutritional programs, weight training, plyometrics, endurance, rehabilitation and team building exercises.
DeMoustes earned a massage therapy licencse from the Somerset School of Massage Therapy and also attended Suffolk County Community College, where he studied Exercise Science.
The Scarlet Knights, who finished 5-20 last season and 2-12 in the Big East, return four starters from last season's squad including senior Amanda Meyer (Naperville, Ill.) and junior Roxy Calder (Oceanside, Calif.). Meyer placed second on the team last season in both kills with 217 and blocks with 59. Calder led the team in assists with 572.
RU will begin play on August 24 when they travel to Athens, Ohio to compete in the Hampton Inn Challenge against James Madison.
