Rutgers Softball Loses to Radford 4-0

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Rutgers softball team (9-11) opened play at the Cavalier Classic with a 4-0 loss to Radford (17-7) on Thursday night in Charlottesville, Va.
It was the Scarlet Knights second loss of the season against the Highlanders as Radford won a previous match up at the USF Under Armour Classic.
The contest remained scoreless through the first three innings as both teams combined for just three hits, however, Radford pulled away in the fourth with a three-run inning. The Highlanders added another score in the sixth to earn the 4-0 victory.
The Scarlet Knights received hits in the game from freshman Mandy Craig (Manassas, Va.), and juniors Amanda Heller (Belle Mead, N.J.) and Kim Hodges (Houston, Texas). Hodges finished 2-for-3 on the night.
Rutgers will next be in action on Friday, March 21, at 12:30 p.m. against Georgetown.
