Epiphanny Prince Earns All-American Honors

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Rutgers University guard Epiphanny Prince (Brooklyn, N.Y.) was selected to the Associated Press All-America third team, it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The sophomore paces the Scarlet Knights in several categories, including scoring (14.0 ppg) and steals (2.5 spg). She is third on the team in field goal percentage, shooting at a 45.6 percent clip. In addition, Prince is second on the squad in assists with 2.8 per game.
She leads the team in field goals made and attempted, both free throw attempts and conversions and also in three-pointers with 40 on the year.
The Brooklyn, N.Y. product is the first RU player to be selected - in a vote by AP writers - for one of the three All-America teams since Cappie Pondexter was a first team selection in 2006, following her senior season.
Prince compiled 25 double-digit scoring games in her second full season of action, including five 20-plus point performances.
Prince and her teammates vie for their second straight Greensboro Regional crown on Tuesday evening when they take on top-seed Connecticut at 9:00 p.m. The game is being broadcast nationally on ESPN.
