
RU 10th after Day One of Nittany Lion Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Rutgers women's golf team is tied for 10th place with a 638 (323-313) team score after the first two rounds of the Nittany Lion Invitational, played Saturday at the Penn State Golf Course. Freshman Brittany Weddell (Buzzards Bay, Mass.) leads Rutgers and is tied for 10th after carding a 150 (75-75) on the par 72, 6,300-yard course.
Sophomore Lizzy Carl (Mendota Heights, Minn.) also performed well on day one, shooting a 161 (82-79) to sit tied for 45th in the 90-player field. Sophomore Elisa Mateer (Marmora, N.J.) posted a 166 (84-82) and junior Jeanne Waters (West Sayville, N.Y.) turned-in a 168 (89-79). Sophomore Kristina Lee (Haddonfield, N.J.) rounded out the team scorecard with a 168 (82-86).
Rollins College currently leads the 16-team tournament, putting together a score of 596. Joanne Cole paced Rollins and the event with an even par 144 (74-70). Minjoo Lee of Bucknell recorded a hole in one on the par three, eighth hole.
The third and final round will take place Sunday with a shotgun start scheduled for 9:00 a.m. RESULTS
